NYC – Le Bernardin
Details, Details, Details
Picky Eats – Le Bernardin was an amazing experience! It was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. There was spectacular service and a very diverse menu, including many different kinds of fish, shellfish, and crustaceans. When I was younger, this was one of the restaurants I remember most. Part of this is because they didn’t have a menu of things like hamburgers and chicken tenders. The menu had food that adults and kids can appreciate. The first time I came here, I ordered a wonderful seared black sea bass. The second time I came for my birthday, I had lobster with fresh linguine as an appetizer and a delicious pan seared striped sea bass as an entree. As a special birthday surprise, I got a lemon ice cream in a meringue shell with roasted fruits and fruit sauce! Le Bernardin was a restaurant I will never forget!
WHAT THE PARENTS THINK
There isn’t much I can say about Le Bernardin that hasn’t been said already. Everyone knows this is the gold standard for seafood. The restaurant business is very hard. To be able to retain their Michelin star at this high level for so many years is no small feat!
While the seafood is the best I’ve ever had. I want to also highlight the attention to detail their staff provided for our service not through my eyes, but through my observation of how my child was taken care of. Back in 2016, my son was 6. Le Bernardin had a general rule that you had to be at least 7 to eat at his restaurant. We wrote them a letter to see if they will make an exception. Our son loves to try new things, and we wanted him to try the best seafood in the world! They granted us this wonderful opportunity. The dinner as you can imagine was amazing. But that wasn’t what he remembers till this day. It was the service he received from the point he walked into the large glass doors, to the waiters listening intently to what he wanted to eat, what type of bread he wanted, to the dessert selection. It was the first time he wasn’t shown a kids menu of nuggets, fish sticks, or mac & cheese. In my opinion, it was because of this experience that the Picky Eat’s blog was born.
The menu changes seasonally. From a carbohydrate standpoint, the main carbs come from the bread, and the desserts. If you plan to dine here, and carbohydrate information is required, please ask for it when making the reservation. They will be more than happy to provide you that information.
Carbohydrate info we provide is based on our own personal experience. We don’t guarantee the accuracy or validity of the information. Use as a general guide!!
