NYC: Doughnut Plant

Doughnut plant has a wide variety of doughnuts that changes seasonally. There are yeast doughnuts, cake doughnuts, filled doughnuts, doughnut flowers, and doughseeds. I don’t know what doughseeds are. The yeast, cake, and flower doughnuts are all round. The filled doughnuts are square have 2 flavors. My dad ordered the vanilla bean doughnut with berry jam filling. I ordered the black and white cake doughnut.

The vanilla bean and jam doughnut was nice and light, but I couldn’t taste the vanilla bean.  The jam tasted just like blackberries and raspberries. The black and white doughnut was also very good. It was cool how the vanilla and chocolate dough mixed in the middle. The only thing bad about this doughnut was that it was too thin. It gets kind of busy sometimes. This doughnut shop is very good if you want a quick, delicious breakfast.

WHAT THE PARENTS THINK

• The donuts were creative.  More a cake like dough.
• Is it better than Krispy Kreme, no.  Not if you order a fresh original, but yes if you order a jelly donut.
• I enjoyed my jelly filled donut.
• Good for kids.
