NYC: Tim Ho Wan
Tim Ho Wan serves Hong Kong dim sum. They don’t have siu long bao. Their dim sum is different because everything is made after you order instead of them pushing carts that keep the food warm. The area is pretty bright and the restaurant is quiet until around 11:00 when everyone comes. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for people that like siu long bao.
WHAT THE PARENTS THINK
- We have very limited dim sum options in San Diego. So when I say I like Tim Ho Wan, it’s because i’m from San Diego.
- Restaurant is not in China Town but in East Village. It’s a little more upscale and very clean.
- They don’t push dim sum carts. You order based on the pictures on a placemat.
- I love their bbq pork buns made with a pineapple bun. Very different and good.
- Good for kids.
- I would bring a client here but not my parents!
