Oahu – Piggy Smalls
WAFFLES WITH A SIDE OF PHO?
Picky Eats – Piggy Smalls was an excellent restaurant to eat breakfast at. I had ordered a cinnamon roll waffle (why not have one good thing when you can have two?) with frosting and seasoned apples on the side. The waffle tasted pretty good, but it was a bit sweet. The cinnamon added a nice touch to the waffle. The frosting paired well with it, but I made sure not to pour too much on. And the apples were awesome. They were firm and sweet and a little salty all at the same time. Mixed together, it really did taste like a cinnamon roll, even though it was a waffle. My parents had ordered some special kind of coffee, and it came with a biscotti and the server poured more coffee on it until it looked like a really fancy dish. The inside of the restaurant was brightly lit and very open, but that might be because it was very sunny outside. Overall, I think this would be a great to eat breakfast or brunch at.
WHAT THE PARENTS THINK
The options for breakfast on Oahu can be very overwhelming. The intersection of all the different cultures provide a smorgasbord of some pretty amazing breakfast fare. This morning I felt like a strong cup of french coffee combined with something salty and soupy. My kid wanted something sweet and savory. Piggy Smalls satisfied all the palates in the family.
Piggy Smalls is the sister restaurant to Pig & Lady. The restaurant gave a brunch like vibe and the menu supported that. Many popular dishes from Pig & Lady do transfer over here, specifically pho. I am so happy that it did. The pho here is different than what we get in the states (Little Saigon). The broth is a bit sweeter and I believe the key lime adds a very distinctive flavor. As if that wasn’t enough, I tack on a side order of brisket. Ohh so good. Thank god I’m still on vacation.
The staff here is fantastic. They’re professional and well trained. If you have dietary restrictions, keto, diabetic, whatever, they will take care of you. Pig & Lady will always be on my list of first stops when I visit Oahu!!

Deconstructed Apple Waffle | Original Pancake House | 1 | NA | NA | 154 | This is a waffle estimate using Original Pancake House waffle as the base. We est 125g carb for the waffle and 27g for the apples. We asked the kitchen to deconstruct the dish for us.
Side of Brisket | NA | 1 | 0 | NA | 0 | Brisket can be ordered as a side.
Oxtail Pho | Fresh Rice Stick | 56 | 35 | 100 | 62.5 | I'm only concerned with the carbs from the rice stick. The type of pho you order shouldn't matter. Your actual weight of the pho could be different. Use a scale or ask them to weigh it if this is important to you. |
