Oahu – The Pig & The Lady

IN SEARCH OF PHO ON OAHU
Picky Eats – The Pig and the Lady is located on a busy street somewhere in Chinatown on Oahu. Inside, there is a modern theme. There’s a bar as well as tables to eat at. The kids menu was fairly simple. There was a plain kids pho with plain noodles and soup. The noodles were a nice texture, and the soup had good flavor. It was unlike any pho I have ever had before. The other item that was on the kids menu was brisket sliders. The order was quite large, so it would be good to share it between 2 kids. In the kitchen, there were large pots filled with broth ready to be served. Also, there was a walk-in refrigerator. It held all sorts of food like ginger, poultry, beef, and mushrooms. There also was a soft serve machine. Every once in a while, they change the flavors. The day I went, there was custard and ume flavors.

WHAT THE PARENTS THINK
This family run business is a well oiled machine. Chef Andrew Le and family bring together their interpretation of Vietnamese food with a twist. This is one restaurant you definitely must include when visiting Oahu!!
I wasn’t expecting to find amazing Vietnamese food in Oahu, but that’s what I found. The pho here is top notch and can compete against any pho place in Little Saigon! I’ve never been to Vietnam, but if I had to guess what really good pho taste like, this would be the taste. I think the kaffir limes and different types of meat bones play a big part in their pho.
This restaurant does many things good. Appetizers, “LFC Wings”. If you have a peanut allergy, tell them to hold off on the peanuts.
I like how they take classic american BBQ and make it their own. I had the Brisket Banh Mi (and I ordered extra brisket).

Lots of yummy desserts including interesting soft serves. You’re on your own on this one.
