AKA – The Kill Bill Restaurant , O-Ren Ishii: Silly Rabbit. Trix are for kids

Picky Eats – Gonpachi Nishiazabu was an amazing restaurant. My dad had told me that someone filmed Kill Bill here. I ate zaru soba and a variety of tempura vegetables. Zaru soba is a dipping noodle the comes with a sort of soy sauce. The tempura included green beans and broccoli. They allo had a great orange drink similar to a Calpico. This restaurant would be great for anyone visiting Japan.

WHAT THE PARENTS THINK

When you land in Japan, it’s very intimidating if you can’t speak or read the language. I had a simple plan. Pick up my Wi-Fi hotspot at the airport and I can figure out the rest. First mistake, I assumed there were just one or two locations to pick the hotspot up at the airport. Apparently there were ten plus vendors. Next I needed to take the train to midtown. That put me back an hour to figure out the subway system. By the time we got to the hotel, we were hungry and didn’t want to spend too much time figuring out what to eat. Thank god my friend from Hong Kong met up with us and knew exactly where to go. Let’s go to Gonpachi! My friend says with a grin, you’ll know exactly where you are when you walk in.
Little did I know, Gonpachi is the restaurant made famous by Kill Bill. This is the restaurant with the famous sword fights with Gogo and The Crazy 88’s and O-Ren Ishii.

Once seated, I was at ease. They had an english menu (with pictures), and excellent cocktails. Food was classic japanese fare, tempura, soba, skewers, and combo meals. The food came out fast, and the company was fantastic. A nice way to end a hectic day!

Maybe I can ask the waitress where I can pick up a Hattori Hanzo katana sword. O-Ren Ishii said it best: Silly Rabbit trix are for kids.
